Spencer Gulf Searoad wishes to advise passengers of the upcoming temporary suspension of ferry services for our annual repairs and maintenance program.
The Aurora V will cease operations from Thursday, 12th June 2025, with services scheduled to resume on Wednesday, 1st October 2025.
To complete essential repairs, maintenance, and out-of-water inspections, the vessel will travel to a specialist slipway in Yamba, Northern New South Wales. Unfortunately, South Australia currently lacks a suitable facility for these works, making this interstate journey a necessity.
“We appreciate our customers’ understanding and support during this temporary pause in services,” said Manager, Sue Cassidy. “This maintenance ensures the Aurora V remains safe, reliable, and ready to continue providing a high standard of service without interruption.”
Important Information:
Both Wallaroo and Lucky Bay offices will remain open throughout the closure to assist with bookings, quotes, and general enquiries.
Online bookings will continue to be available for future travel dates.
Discounts will be available for online bookings made during this maintenance period.
Spencer Gulf Searoad has redefined travel between the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas, offering a relaxing 2.5-hour cruise across the gulf—avoiding the long 400km road journey. The Aurora V features air-conditioned lounges, onboard entertainment, WiFi, and an outdoor observation deck to enjoy the stunning coastal views.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back aboard in October.
